Sandalista + Jay Alders

We're excited to welcome surf artist Jay Alders to the Sandalista family! Jay is a fine artist, photographer and designer whose distinctive style and imaginative prowess is recognized around the world. His work has been featured in galleries from New York City to California, art tours in Brazil, surf exhibitions on the North Shore of Oahu and in the X-Games. Now Jay's unique style can be enjoyed on high-quality Sandalista flip flops.

His intricate brushwork, intense colors and superb compositions bring to life his signature elongated figures and stylized forms. He's been pursuing his lifelong dream of becoming a thriving professional artist since he was a child. “Some people wait around for opportunity to come knocking. I prefer to just build my own door and open it,” Jay says.

He's also known for his philanthropy work, giving back to the community whenever possible. In 2009 he was named an Official Ambassador to Surf Aid International and supports many worthy causes such as Surfrider Foundation, PETA, Lilo’s Promise, NORML and the ASPCA.
